EUFOR Commander Major General Maurizio Fronda, hosted Lieutenant General Bruno Foussard, General Inspector of the French Army, during his visit to EUFOR Headquarters at Camp Butmir. The visit provided an opportunity to meet the French contingent serving within EUFOR Operation ALTHEA and to gain an overview of their contribution to the mission.
Major General Fronda expressed his appreciation for French steadfast support, emphasizing that the commitment and professionalism of partner nations are fundamental to the success of Operation Althea. Major General Fronda noted the recent arrival of French EUFOR reserve forces to Bosnia and Herzegovina by air and rail, complete with vehicles and equipment, to participate in the annual Exercise Quick Response 2026.
COM EUFOR commended the professionalism, determination and capability that French forces demonstrated, not only during Exercise Quick Response, but on a continuous basis throughout all of EUFOR’s training and operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Lieutenant General Foussard reaffirmed French commitment to the mission and welcomed the opportunity to further enhance cooperation with EUFOR. Both leaders acknowledged the importance of maintaining close coordination and a shared approach to supporting peace, stability and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
