EUFOR hosted the Austrian national week recently. The week included a variety of Austrian traditions and past times such as log sawing, table football and barrel tapping. EUFOR troops had the opportunity to witness the different types of clothing, foods and music from the Austrian contingent.

The week also included flag raising ceremonies and a celebration of Austrian national day on 26 October. The 26 October celebrates the day the Austrian parliament declared the nation's neutrality and independence from foreign powers. The holiday is marked by parades, festivals, and fireworks across the country.

The week was a great success and we thank our Austrian colleagues for a very enjoyable and informative week.
