EUFOR reserve troops conducted a rapid deployment to Trebinje today as part of Exercise Quick Response 2026, demonstrating the ability of multinational forces to reinforce their presence quickly in support of the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
An Austrian platoon deployed from Camp Butmir by road before moving towards the exercise objective. There, troops rehearsed procedures in support of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and local law enforcement agencies to restore safe and secure conditions around an ammunition and weapons storage site.
The activity tested EUFOR’s ability to rapidly move reserve forces over considerable distances, integrate multinational ground capabilities and establish an operational presence where required.
The deployment also demonstrated the flexibility provided by EUFOR’s reserve forces and their ability to reinforce troops already deployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina at short notice.
Exercise Quick Response 2026 tests EUFOR’s capacity, credibility and readiness through realistic multinational training conducted across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
By maintaining the ability to rapidly reinforce its presence and operate effectively alongside the relevant authorities, EUFOR remains prepared to fulfil its mandate and support the maintenance of a safe and secure environment.
